Meaning of Parnassus

 

 

The name “Parnassus” originates from Mount Parnassus in Greece. Greek mythology refers to Mount Parnassus as the source of intellectual knowledge and artistic creativity.

 

But Parnassus is also my wife’s childhood home in Jamaica West Indies where she lived on a sugar plantation.  Her countless stories of life growing up in the Jamaican countryside included a unique combination of academics, resourcefulness, community and a simple way of life against the backdrop of a beautiful tropical paradise.  These stories have become a source of joy and an inspiration to create a positive environment that promotes learning, success and well-being.
